Our clinical neonatal medical and consultative services include:

  • Consultations before birth with families whose pregnancy has been complicated by a diagnosis of birth defects, multiple gestation or probable preterm delivery
  • Attendance at medium to high-risk deliveries
  • Transport services for ill newborn infants
  • Newborn care for at-risk and ill babies
  • Conventional and high-frequency ventilator care
  • ECMO
  • Inhaled Nitric Oxide therapy
  • Complete surgical services, including open-heart cardiovascular surgery (in cooperation with our surgical colleagues)
  • Subspecialty medical consultations including cardiology, pulmonology, surgery, urology, gastroenterology, neurology, neurosurgery, genetics, hematology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology and nephrology
  • Long-term pulmonary care
  • Telephone consultations with other physicians
  • Consultative and management services with obstetrical and perinatal colleagues
  • Collaborative care with support staff including nursing, occupational therapy, nutrition, lactation, social work, discharge coordination, pharmacy, respiratory therapy
