Common Questions

Can a baby with this condition breathe?

Many babies with a CPAM are able to breathe easily without assistance.  If the mass is particularly large, the baby may need breathing support with a ventilator.

Will my baby need to have surgery?

Most CPAMs eventually need to be surgically removed to avoid the development of infection in the cystic area.  Some surgeries are done in the neonatal period.  Infants who breathe easily may be able to have surgery at a later date.
